Five generations milked cows here. We kept the wide pine floors, the barn beams and the woodstove in the parlor, then gave every room its own bath and a window that opens onto the brook.

Stowe changes completely every few months. This year the first color showed up on the maples by the brook on September 9, and peak weekends are nearly full.
